Ammar Mohammad Khamis is a Policy Associate at the Energy for Growth Hub, where he focuses on transparency in power purchase agreements (PPAs) and supports the Hub’s Energy for Mining project. His work examines how contractual design, disclosure practices, and institutional oversight shape fiscal risk and power sector performance in developing countries.
Ammar comes to the Hub from Global Info Analytics, where he served as Project Coordinator and applied quantitative methods to political and economic analysis. He previously worked on energy policy at the Office of the Vice President of Ghana, contributing to the national energy transition strategy, and brings legal and compliance experience in Ghana’s upstream petroleum sector through his work at Aker Energy. He holds a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an LL.M. in Oil, Gas and Mining Law from Nottingham Law School.
