The Issue
Energy poverty destroys jobs and economic opportunities for all people — but especially for women. It disproportionately impacts women’s ability to access quality employment, run businesses, or participate in competitive global industries.
Relevance
Despite major advances in women’s education and health across developing economies, economic opportunities remain severely constrained. We need new thinking about how to drive investment in energy solutions to unlock women’s economic potential.
Our Approach
The Energy for Growth Hub aims to identify the energy solutions, policies, and investment models with the greatest potential to create high-quality jobs for women. We will explore how policymakers, funders, researchers, and the private sector can advance an energy transition that unlocks women’s economic opportunities at scale.
