Lanre Shasore is a Senior Adviser, Energy Transition Planning (Africa) at Sustainable Energy for All. Previously she worked as Senior Special Assistant, Planning and Coordination in the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, and coordinated and facilitated priority policy issues covering a range of areas including agriculture, energy transition, technology, and COVID recovery. She also worked as the secretary to the Nigeria Economic Management Team chaired by the Vice President of Nigeria. She has worked to develop key government policy documents, including the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan (2020) and the Federal Government of Nigeria Priorities document (2019 – 2023). In 2020, she led the team to develop the Nigeria Covid Recovery Plan and is currently supporting the implementation of the Nigeria Energy Transition Plan.

Prior to this role, Lanre worked in the power sector leading sustainability and regulatory issues. In 2014, she led the acquisition of ISO 9001:2008 (QMS) for the first Nigerian independent power company to operate these standards. In 2009 she led the largest study of local government in Nigeria and implemented an extensive capacity building and advocacy campaign for local communities around local governance issues in Nigeria. She has worked in peacekeeping and conflict prevention in West Africa and the Great Lakes regions in the United Nations.
