Hub Research Director Rose Mutiso was awarded the 2023 McGuire Family Prize for Societal Impact, in recognition of her incredible work at the intersection of science, policy, gender equity, and international development.

The McGuire Family Prize for Societal Impact recognizes and rewards Dartmouth community members who have contributed toward or are responsible for making a significant positive impact on humanity, society, or the environment.

In her acceptance speech, Rose emphasizes the importance of putting African thinkers and ideas back at the center of African policy debates in the face of a global architecture set up to exclude them. Watch the full speech (23 minutes) below.
