Arvind Subramanian is Senior Fellow at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs and a Distinguished Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development. Arvind served as the Chief Economic Advisor to the government of India, 2014-18. He has previously been a professor at Ashoka University, Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, and Johns Hopkins’ School for Advanced International Studies. He was previously a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics and served as assistant director in the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund. Arvind’s books include Of Counsel: The Challenges of the Modi-Jaitley Economy (2018), Greenprint: A New Approach to Cooperation on Climate Change (2013), Eclipse: Living in the Shadow of China’s Economic Dominance (2011), and India’s Turn: Understanding the Economic Transformation (2008). He obtained his undergraduate degree from St. Stephens College, his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad, and his M.Phil and D.Phil from the University of Oxford.
