Eric Wanless is a Fellow at the Energy for Growth Hub. Eric is a seasoned, supportive, and trusted climate and energy leader, thinker, and doer. He works with companies, governments, and investors to enable global growth in prosperity without killing the planet. He was previously the head of the Solutions group at the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) where he focused the organization on reducing the cost of distributed renewables in the global south (achieving a 30% cost reduction) and using battery energy storage systems to increase the penetration of variable renewable energy (with first of a kind projects in India, SE Asia, and Africa). Prior to joining GEAPP, he was the Managing Director of Applied Innovation at The Rockefeller Foundation. He also co-founded and led the Africa Energy Program at RMI after spending years working on transforming the climate impact of heavy users and producers of energy globally.
