Habiba Ahut Daggash is a Fellow at the Energy for Growth Hub. She is an Associate with the Africa Energy Program at RMI, an energy-focused non-profit working globally to formulate, test, and scale market-driven solutions to climate change. Her current work focuses on expanding productive uses of electricity in agricultural value chains in Nigeria. Previously, she was a Senior Associate at the Boston Consulting Group. Habiba holds a PhD in energy systems modelling from Imperial College London. Her thesis sought to understand how electricity systems need to transition to deliver the Paris Agreement in Nigeria and the UK, with a focus on the potential role of carbon dioxide removal technologies. She has published many journal articles and co-authored two books on a range of topics including just energy transitions in sub-Saharan Africa, negative emissions technologies, carbon capture and storage, and carbon pricing. Habiba holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford.
