
Ishmael Ackah is a Senior Advisor at the Energy for Growth Hub. He is also a Technical Advisor to the Ministry of Energy in Ghana and formerly served as Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) and as Chairman of the Regulatory and Legal Committee of Ghana’s Electricity Market Oversight Panel. Ishmael has previously worked at the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), for USAID’s West Africa Energy Program, at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy, and at the Ghana Energy Commission. He has a keen interest in energy research, has published over 70 peer-reviewed articles, and served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies at the University of Cape Coast and the Department of Economics at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
