Stephen Lee is Director of Geospatial Analytics at the Energy for Growth Hub. He is also a postdoctoral associate at MIT CEEPR and a research affiliate at the UMass-Amherst STIMA Lab. He is developing machine learning systems to produce high-resolution geospatial maps of electricity and heating demand across countries and continents. The resulting geospatial maps are being used to enhance infrastructure decision-making and improve global development and climate outcomes. Stephen holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science from MIT. He also holds Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and in Technology & Policy from MIT and Bachelor’s degrees in Materials Science & Engineering and Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
