Shalini Rao is a Policy Associate at the Energy for Growth Hub focusing on US Policy Tools for global energy engagement and the Modern Energy Minimum. Shalini comes to the Hub from the US Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources, where she managed technical cooperation and diplomatic engagements on grid reliability, power sector decarbonization, and energy market development across the Indo-Pacific and Latin America. Shalini began her career in public sector consulting at Booz Allen Hamilton and has previously worked for the United Nations Development Programme and the Inter-American Development Bank. She holds a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Studies from the University of Michigan.
