Katie is the Deputy Executive Director at the Energy for Growth Hub. She helps lead strategy and operations, and focuses her research and analysis on U.S. energy, development finance, and climate policy. She hosts the Hub’s podcast High Energy Planet and writes about global development and America’s changing role in the world in her Aid Interrupted Substack. She is also a non-resident fellow on US-Africa relations at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and a member of the Economic Advisory Council for the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation. Previously, she spent seven years at the U.S. Agency for International Development, including as Senior Development Finance Advisor and Acting Deputy Coordinator of Power Africa. Katie holds an MsC in Natural Resource Management from the University of Akureyri in Iceland and a BA from Bowdoin College. In her free time, she’s chasing her two boys around and finding ways to get up into the mountains or out in the ocean.
